ABOUT
SARAH    GREENIER

Growing up on Orr’s Island, I developed a great appreciation and love of the Maine coast.

I began drawing and painting at a early age as there were several artists in my family, and went on to study art at Oak Grove School in Vassalboro, and Pratt Institute in New York.

After working as a graphic artist and art director for many years, I made a decision to paint for my own enjoyment. And in time, I was showing my paintings at art shows throughout

Maine and New England. I began painting in watercolor, and eventually expanded into oil painting. Most all my work today is in oils, as I find it a more expressive medium, and more workable while painting outdoors.

I paint scenes that have special meaning to me - a lobster boat beached at Mackeral Cove on Bailey Island, or lawn chairs set out on the a crisp Monhegan morning. I most enjoy painting quintessential ‘Maine’ scenes, that express the quiet simplicity of our lifestyle. I find color to be my greatest inspiration, and morning and evening light most compelling.

Our gallery is open 11 AM - 5 PM, Wednesday - Saturday, or by appointment, (207) 443-3936.

Best Regards,

Sarah
